Instagram Takeover; Travel/Fashion Bloggers Take on Instagram

Instagram is a social media that was created by Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom in October of 2010. Within the first two months of its arrival to the app store, 1 million accounts had already been created. It is the biggest picture based social media app in the app store.

Some people see this form of social media as just a way to brag about your amazing life, but in reality, that’s really no one’s goal. It’s more used to show where they were vacationing, or to show off their new best friend or outfit. It’s people expressing and showing what’s important to them in pictures.

There are accounts ranging from food accounts, fashion, funny, and my favorite, travel accounts. Travel accounts aren’t entirely travel based, they usually have some sort of fashion aspect of it. My favorites are accounts owned by people who actually post their own pictures with themselves in them.

In a previous blog, I talked about Alexis Rene and Jay Alvarez. These two travelers have been dating for over a year and travel the world together on modeling jobs and show their experiences through extremely cool pictures and videos. They both just pick up and travel in a matter of hours. They really live by their favorite quote,

“Lets Live”.

Another one of my favorite travel/fashion accounts is @the_salty_blonde’s. This account is mostly based off of fashion seen as she is sponsored by many many clothing companies. She lives in Hawaii, so her pictures are beautiful with the scenery including her amazing outfits and clothes.

A new personal favorite account I recently found was @maddybarket. She has fewer than 3,000 followers so she isn’t quite famous, but has the coolest Instagram and life. She lives in the upper east side and she literally lives a life straight out of the show gossip girl. Her outfits are extremely well put together and fashionable along with her boyfriend’s. Her and her Boyfriend Lucas have been dating for 7 months and go on vacation together all the time. She doesn’t really have a boho sense of the style like the rest of these people, she has more of a vogue New York City style.

@gabbyepstein has another very cool Instagram. She too is sponsored by many clothing companies and is sent free clothes to promote on her Instagram. She also lives in Hawaii so all of her pictures are in really cool places.
In conclusion, these are some really great travel and fashion accounts on Instagram that you should really check out. Next time you’re scrolling through the explore page and see a picture of the beautiful ocean water and a girl in a really cool boho outfit, don’t keep scrolling look through, trust me it’ll be worth it.

It’s all worth it; Australia

It’s all worth it; Australia

We all know that traveling can be a bit tiring. Waking up at three in the morning and going through customs with stubborn people and little children running around everywhere screaming and throwing fits on the ground. And to add on to this amazing experience, having to sit at your gate for hours and when it’s finally your turn to board, you get to wait for all of the idiots who are deciding what overhead compartment to put their bags in.

Even though it is quite a hassle getting through all of this without giving up and going home, it is ALWAYS worth it. Today I’m writing about somewhere that takes a very long time to get to, as well as being somewhere I’ve actually never visited but is the first place I’m going to travel to after college; Australia. Located in the continent of Oceania, Australia is the 6th largest nation in the world with a total area of 7,741,220 square kilometers.

When my mom graduated college she went with 5 of her friends to the South East side of Australia, rented a big VW and drove all the way up the cost. They would stop and surf at beaches and have big campfires and camp out at night. To me this sounds like the most fun thing in the entire world. I absolutely love traveling with friends and Australia is beautiful.

There are a ton of great waves for surfing in Australia which is one of the many things that attracts people to the continent. There are also tons of other things to do like dive through the Great Barrier Reef, explore Fraser Island the world’s largest sand island,  and Hike the Daintree the world’s oldest rainforest. All in all, Australia just looks like an incredibly fun place to visit no matter how tiring the journey there is.

Harbour Island; My Heaven on Earth

Harbour Island; My Heaven on Earth

Hi everyone, I know I’ve already written a blog on Harbour Island previously, but I just recently went back on vacation and thought I’d share my wonderful experience yet again.

This time was by far the most fun time I’ve ever been for many reasons. First of all, the pain of getting up for a four o’clock flight was weakened because I was on the same plane as all of my friends. All the families that we traveled with got the same flight coincidentally, and we took up about half the plane.

We go with the same 12 families every year and I’ve grown up with all of these kids and parents my whole life. Connor Sovak, Francesca Devita, Julia Curtin, Finley Harris, and Maggie Sovak are some of my best friends and I’ve known them since preschool. Recently my friend Finley moved away so we get to see her in Harbour Island which is another reason to look forward to it every year.

Only an Impertinent fool-born giglet wouldn’t want to visit this paradise with their best friends. The kids are at an age where we’re allowed to drive to the beach by ourselves on golf carts, spend the morning there and walk up for lunch at Coral Sands. I don’t think there’s anything more fun and freeing running around with your best friends, no shoes, on and just being able to go anywhere at any moment in paradise.

This year we rented a boat and went snorkeling around ship wrecks and saw tons of sea turtles and wonderfully colored fish and coral. My friend’s little sister’s nanny Nausica is a trained deep sea diver so she knew all the types of coral, fish, turtles, and eels.

All in all, I know I write a lot of my blogs on Harbour Island but all the words in the world can not express my love for this island and for the people I go with.IMG_8697.JPG
